The video dicussed linking images you have saved other places because it will slow down your website. What are those sources? Can Google Drive be used as one of these. I'm trying to find out imformation about this but don't really know what to search under. Hosting companies for images that work with WordPress...is that the right verbage. Very new to this and trying to figure it all out before I start blogging.

Thank you!

Hi Kerri,

The best place to store your images is on the same web server on which your site is hosted. That results in the least latency when loading images used on your site.

For best results, just upload your images using the methods demonstrated in the video.

Using images that are hosted elsewhere on the web could result in delays when your visitors load your pages. And, while you can link to images hosted on Google Drive, I don't think you can actually load images directly from Google Drive within your pages or post.

The best Managed WordPress hosts also include caching and CDN networks to speed up the loading of images you've uploaded to your website. So you don't have to worry about this detail. Just upload your images normally, either when editing a page or post, or by using the Media Library. You'll be set.
