I created a WordPress site years back using a theme that is no longer supported. I plan to redesign it. I am an artist and writer, more of a techie by default, But I do enjoy working with WordPress.
I am torn between using Elementor or something like Kadence blocks. I know I want a clear, simple, minimal theme or design with plenty of white space, with the accent on content. Any tips, best practices, or hearty words of encouragement will be profoundly appreciated.
Feel free to ask any questions if the explanation of what I am looking for is not clear. Thanks in advance.

Hey there,
It can feel daunting to redesign a site but if you take it one step at a time it can help make it feel much less daunting. To start, the safest way to begin the process would be to create a staging site in case you decide to stop partway through your redesign. WPBeginner has a guide for setting up a staging site here: https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-create-staging-environment-for-a-wordpress-site/
Once you have that set up you can take as much time as you like without worrying what your users see. For your design, both of those should be able to achieve the style you want. It comes down to personal preference with the tools you are using for which is best for you. Kadence has a tool to let you test their builder if you visit their site so using that and seeing how you like it would be a good way to decide if you want to use it or not.
