I just finished watching the tax rate section of the WooCommerce videos and am wondering if during setup I literally have to manually look up and enter the tax rate(s) for each state in the US if I will be selling in the US? Is there a pre-made list that exists already , a plugin, etc. that will allow a simple import and editing where necessary? This seems like a major project just to get the tax table set up.

Thank you!

Hello,

There aren't any pre-made lists of tax rates that I know of.

I suggest first contacting your accountant or tax professional to see what taxes your company is required to collect, then see if they can provide the rates needed to add to WooCommerce.

Here are two options for you:

  1. You can add these tax rates to a CSV file and import them on the WooCommerce > Settings > Tax Tab.

  2. You can use a 3rd party system like http://www.taxjar.com/ that will use a plugin to setup the tax rates for you.
