My original website has been up for a couple of years, but I have been working in a staging copy and changed the theme to Divi and added some plug-ins. It is completely different. Is there anything I need to know before I hit the "push to live" button from my staging copy?
Thanks!

Hi Lori,
It can be an anxiety-inducing moment to push a staging site to live. I would recommend you create a complete backup of the live site before pushing your staging site to live.
If you run an ecommerce or membership site, you may have customers who have signed up during the time you were working on your staging site. If that's the case, simply pushing everything from staging to live will overwrite the live database, essentially deleting any customer accounts and orders that were created after the date and time when you set up the staging site.
In that case, you'll want to selectively choose which database tables are overwritten and which are preserved.
But, other than that important consideration, you should be able to push the changes with no concern.
Again, if you have a complete backup of the live site, you can easily restore it if anything goes awry during the migration.
Hope this helps, and best of luck!
