I have read in a few places that having a sitemap on the WP site is very important for SEO.
Does that involve creating a sitemap manually in the WP dashboard or how is it done ?

Hi Ferdi,
Yes, a sitemap is critical to your site's search engine rankings. It's a tiny document that contains a list of all the pages in your site, and it's what the search engine “robots” use to index your site.
You don't have to manually create a sitemap. SEO plugins like Yoast SEO or All in One SEO Pack will take care of creating a sitemap for your site, as well as a host of other functions necessary for proper SEO.
