I was updating plugins and my site crashed. WordPress sent me an email that says, in part: "If your site appears broken and you can't access your dashboard normally, WordPress now has a special "recovery mode". This lets you safely login to your dashboard and investigate further." Then there is a link. Is it safe to click on the link?
When I try to log in there is this error message: "There has been a critical error on your website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions."
What should I do?

Hi Lori,
So sorry to hear you're having trouble with your site. It is safe to click the new, recovery mode link in the email you received. Normally, that works, and enables you to log into your site in a sort of “safe mode” so you can further troubleshoot.
If you've backed up your site, you could also recover your site from the most recent backup.
If not, you'll need to contact your web host for support in regaining access to your site.
Hope this helps and that you're back up and running ASAP!
Hi Shawn,
Thanks so much for your quick response. I believe I have fixed the problem. It paused a plugin update.
Happy New Year!
