I created a WordPress site and started playing with it back in December. With life, I am just now getting back to it. But I can't find my password. When I try to use my email to get a new password it says email not found. How can I get back in?
Hi Lisa,
What is the URL or domain name for your WordPress website? And where did you choose to host your WordPress website?
With those answers, I'll do my best to provide some guidance!
I’m feeling so lo-tech. I named it What She Said and here is the address http://whatshesaid.dx.am
Okay, so I took a guess and tried to request a password reset from your WordPress login screen, using the same email address and username you used here on our site.
As you said, it refused both of those, which means you must have entered a different username and email address when you created your WordPress website.
The first thing I would recommend is that you look through your emails to see if you received some sort of confirmation when you first set up your WordPress site. You should have, but it’s possible that it was inadvertently overlooked, deleted, or even filtered as spam.
If you’re unable to find that email, you might log into your web hosting control panel to see if there is a link or other way to log into your WordPress admin directly from your web hosting control panel. A quick look at your website reveals that is hosted by Zettahost (which I’ve never heard of): https://www.zettahost.com
If neither of the suggestions above work for you, your only recourse will be to contact the support team at Zettahost and ask them to restore your access to your WordPress website, by editing the database for your website.
There is a method for restoring admin access to your WordPress website, but it involves editing your MySQL database, and is generally not recommended, unless you know what you’re doing. The steps are outlined here:

Your web hosting company should be able to handle this for you. If not, maybe it’s time to consider a proper Managed WordPress host:

Hope this helps!
UGH, I could have sworn I used the free hosting from word press. I don’t remember hearing about zettahost either. I tried every email I have before I contacted you. Sigh. I will pursue zettahost.
