Hello. I just finished the Jetpack course and it was very useful. I have one quandary however.
Readers of my WordPress site were getting error codes when they tried to comment on posts. I phoned my hosting company's tech support and was told that Akismet was the problem, since I have Jetpack enabled.
That surprised me, but I deactivated Akismet, and now no one is having problems commenting. However, I'd rather have Akismet enabled.
Do you have any thoughts about this conflict, since the course teaches that the two plugins should work seamlessly together.
Thank you very much.

Hi Karen,
Interesting. That's the first time I've heard of users getting errors when submitting comments on posts. And Akismet is by far the best solution for eliminating comment spam.
Have you attempted to reach out to Jetpack support?

The best solution would be to resolve the issue with Akismet/Jetpack, but if that doesn't work, there are plenty of alternatives to Akismet available in the WordPress Plugin Directory.
I'd be curious to hear what the Jetpack support team has to say about this.
