Hello. What is important for website? And how to understand everything? I mean I just found Plugin: WP-Memory-Usage. It shows Memori limits like: WordPress 40MB / PHP256MB, Memory usage: 6MB (15%). How to understand that? What is incerasing / decreasing that memory usage? Is there any more statistics to be important to understand?

Hi there.

Those stats are letting you know how much memory (RAM) is available to WordPress on the web server that’s currently hosting your site.

Some web hosts provide more memory and storage space than others.

Your stats indicate that you’re only using 15% of the available memory. That should be plenty for most websites.

But if you add additional plugins to your site, you’ll find that your site requires more memory. Some plugins, like WooCommerce, are very resource-hungry, and require much more memory to function. If your site runs out of memory, it will become sluggish, taking 20-30 seconds to load a page… or more. And if it completely exhausts all the avaialble memory, your visitors won’t see your site at all. Instead, they’ll see an error message.

Whether or not you’re able to increase the amount of memory on your web server depends entirely on the web hosting provider you’ve chosen to host your site. Some hosts will increase the amount of memory for your site with a simple support ticket request. Most hosts will tell you the only way to increase the memory on your web server is to upgrade to a more expensive plan.

So, I’d say as long as your site is loading as expected, and you’re not encountering any errors, you’re set! That should free your time to focus on what’s most important to you… creating content for your website.

Hope this helps!
