Hi there! I've just started watching the Yoast SEO course and can tell I want to use it on my site. However, I've been using All-in-One SEO pack for several years now. Are there any negative consequences if I switch? Do you know of any good resources that can guide me through the change? Any advice you can give would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! Regards, John Foster

Hi John, You've likely invested a great deal of time configuring the All in One SEO Pack plugin, and even more time adding custom SEO titles and meta descriptions for every post and page on your site. So you'll be happy to learn that the Yoast SEO plugin includes an Import & Export tool that enables you to import your settings from All in One SEO Pack. Once you've installed and activated the Yoast SEO plugin, go to: Tools > Import and Export, then click the “Import from other SEO plugins” tab. At the top of that panel, click the “Need Help?” button to view a video tutorial on how to import your data from All in One SEO Pack. Before you migrate from All in One SEO Pack to the Yoast SEO plugin, be sure you first create a backup of your WordPress database just in case you need to revert after migrating. After you've successfully migrated your existing SEO settings into the Yoast SEO plugin, you'll need to disable the All in One SEO plugin. You cannot run both at the same time. And finally, after you've verified that the migration was successful, you can delete the All in One SEO plugin altogether. As part of the migration process, you'll install the SEO Data Transporter plugin. This 3rd party plugin will facilitate the transfer of all your data and settings from All in One SEO to Yoast SEO. Once you've installed the SEO Data Transporter plugin, you'll choose which plugin you're moving away from, and which plugin you're moving to. Click “analyze” to see what records and elements are compatible, and click “convert” to make the conversion. If you run into trouble along the way, both Yoast SEO and the SEO Data Transporter offer support forums, which you can find in their respective pages on the WordPress.org plugin directory. Hope this helps!
