Hi,

I need to replace some old pages for new ones. I know how to use the redirect plugin but I used it for pages with different names.

Now I have 4 pages:
1. home
2. about me
3. pricing
4. services

I made 4 new pages
1. home1
2. about me1
3. pricing1
4. services1
So I put "1" after each page name.
Now I am ready to go life with the 4 new pages. But I don't want to lose the ranking from old pages so how do I do this. Because the 4 pages I made with the "1"after it must change to the names 1. home 2. about me 3. pricing 4. services

So I want the name "home1" page with change to "home" but there is already(old) page with that name.

Can you explain how to solve this?

Thanks you!

Hi, Sounds like you first need to permanently delete the original 4 pages. Then, you can rename your 4 new pages — including the Permalink (slug) — to match your previous page names. That's the only way to preserve your original SEO ranking. Although, it's worth mentioning that if you have also significantly changed the content on those pages, your search engine ranking for those pages will change anyway, as soon as the new content is indexed. In your WordPress administration area, go to: Pages > Trash Hover over each page you wish to delete, then click the link to: “Delete Permanently” Return to the All Pages panel, and select either Edit or Quick Edit to change the page Title and Slug for each of the 4 new pages, ensuring they match the previous page titles and slugs. That should do it!
