I am new to WordPress. I’m stepping in to update an existing site. Four existing themes are asking to be updated. Will anything change if I do the updates?

If you will not update then you can cause some errors in future for out of date themes. Then WP just will not support them.

Hi Gary,
Out-of-date themes are one of the top security risks that result in sites being compromised. So it’s generally a good practice to update themes, even if they’re inactive.
That said, be sure you’ve got a solid backup before updating the active theme on your site, as it’s possible some things have changed that may affect your site’s appearance. These are usually minor, if at all, but always a good idea to have a backup, just in case!
