When I try to upload photos it says http error. What does that mean and how do I fix it?

Can you include the rest of the error message? Off the top of my head, I don't know why you might be getting an HTTP error when uploading photos.
It could be that your photos are too large for the limits set by your web server. In that case, you'll either need to resize your images so you're uploading smaller images, or reach out to your web hosting provider to ask them to raise the file size limits on your web server.
Or it could be a permissions error due to a faulty installation of WordPress. In that case, you'll need to repair the permissions on your web server to make the image upload folder writeable.
If you can furnish a screenshot of the error message, or share the rest of the error message, that might provide some clues to what's going on.
