My WP website is a mess and its never gone live. Now it's time to install Genesis framework and start over. What's the best way to do this?
Hey Polly if there is nothing in your wp install that is of any value or importance I would do a fresh install, delete the old install altogether and do a complete fresh new one from the softaculous app installer or get your host to do it
I know there are plugins that reset the wp databases that basically returns it to a clean install but its just better I think to start fresh with no old lingering code waiting to pounce one your new site, there could be malicious code or anything in there

replied 9 years ago Thanks for responding. Because I am not technical at all, I don’t even know what the softaculous app installer is. My site is hosted on Bluehost. I tried to figure out how to uninstall on their help section but it’s way over my head. Perhaps I’ll have to try and reach them. I appreciate your time.

Hi Polly,
Like David said, the cleanest aproach is to delete the install from your web hosting control panel. Then you can install WordPress once again from the web hosting control panel.
But if you don't want to go to those lengths, you can use a plugin like WordPress Database Reset. This free plugin simply resets your database back to the deafult settings.
Since the database contains all of your website’s content and customizations, this means your site will be completely wiped of all its content and you'll be left with a fresh install — just as if you'd installed WordPress for the first time.

replied 9 years ago I’m in way over my head, I assume you mean I need to delete the install from Bluehost (which is where my site is hosted) control panel? I appreciate you taking the time to answer, any further assistance is appreciated as I tried to find through help and FAQ sections to no avail.
