I cannot reach my WordPress website because I am getting a 502 Bad Gateway error. What does that mean, and how do I fix it?

A “502 Bad Gateway” error means that a request for a page, script, process, or query on your WordPress website has taken too long to complete and has been rejected by the web server on which your site is hosted.
It usually has nothing to do with your own computer. It could just be that your site is temporarily overloaded. Often, simply refreshing or reloading the page will work, but sometimes the problem may persist for hours or even days.
If so, submit a request for support with the web hosting provider where your site is hosted.
Sometimes, 502 errors can be caused by bugs in a PHP script, WordPress theme, or plugin. In this case, email the creator of the theme or plugin for support.
But if it's just an intermittent error, the simplest option is to wait 10 minutes or so and then try again.
Hope this helps!
