You sipped discussing the API tab. Why is there that I don't need to know. I don't even know what API is or does. Can you explain?
The API tab is for administering the WooCommerce REST API. This is used for allowing external systems to create, read, update, and delete data inside the WooCommerce store. On the API tab there is an option to activate the API and a place to create credentials for API access.
This is an advanced topic that we will cover in an upcoming video.
Thanks!
Like what kind of external system? I have researched the term REST API and not being a techie, I don’t even come close to understanding it.
An example would be if you shipped physical products and contracted with a 3rd party company to store and ship your products. They might have a system that connected to your store’s API to retrieve today’s order data. The API is a secure way to allow that type of connection.
