I Tested the Best One Page WordPress Themes (Here’s My Top 9)

I Tested the Best One Page WordPress Themes (Here’s My Top Picks)

One page websites are having a moment, and I understand why.

They’re clean, modern, and keep visitors focused on what matters most. Instead of clicking through multiple pages, your audience gets everything they need in one smooth scroll.

This makes single page sites perfect when you need to make a powerful first impression, like a portfolio or simple service pitch.

But here’s the problem I’ve run into: finding the right one page theme for your website isn’t always easy.

I’ve experimented with countless single page themes, and I’ve learned that a great-looking demo site doesn’t always mean you’re guaranteed a user-friendly theme. Some designs are bloated with features you don’t need. Others look amazing in theory but are difficult to actually customize.

To save you the headache, I’ve narrowed down the absolute best one page WordPress themes based on my own real-world testing. These themes are fast, flexible, and genuinely deliver on their promises of simplicity and speed.

Whether you’re brand new to WordPress or you’re a seasoned pro, you’ll find options here that make building a stunning, high-converting single-page site surprisingly simple.

Why Build a One Page Website in WordPress

In my experience, single page websites work really well when you want visitors to take a single action. This might be signing up for your newsletter, buying a product, booking an appointment, or performing a similar action.

In this scenario, a one page site keeps your audience focused on your message, and removes all distractions that come from navigating a complex multi-page site.

One page sites are also a good option when you need to control the entire narrative flow.

Since the visitor can only scroll down, you can present your information in a perfect, linear order. For example many successful one page websites start with the main value proposition (the headline and hero section), then move logically to the ‘Problem Solved’ section, then show ‘Social Proof’ (such as testimonials and reviews), and finally present the ‘Call-to-Action’ (your pricing or sign-up form).

In my experience, this clear focus and simplified navigation often provides better conversion rates.

My Hands-On Testing Process for One Page Themes

At WP101, we don’t just look at screenshots – I put every theme in this article through a real-world test.

My process involved building complete, high-content, one page sites from scratch using each theme. I wanted to see which themes felt genuinely useful, were intuitive to use, and delivered on the performance claims that matter most for a single-page layout.

Specifically, I looked at:

  • Installation and Setup: I installed each theme on a brand new, clean WordPress site and measured how long it took to create a functional design. I wanted to see which one page themes offered the quickest ‘ready-to-go’ experience.
  • Customization and Control: I thoroughly tested each theme’s integration with the built-in WordPress Customizer, plus support for the major page builders. My goal was to determine exactly how much control you get over the layout and design, without needing to write custom code.
  • Scrolling and Navigation: Since these are single-page sites, I paid close attention to the smooth scrolling effects. I checked if the anchor links functioned perfectly and whether using features like parallax actually hurt my site’s performance.
  • Performance and Speed: In my opinion, the best single-page themes are the ones that stay lightening-fast under pressure. With that in mind, I made sure to add a ton of high-resolution images, videos, and multiple content sections, before measuring the loading times.
  • Mobile Experience: I viewed every single test site on my phone and tablet to confirm that all the sections stacked correctly, the text remained readable, and critical buttons and forms were easily accessible.
  • Integrations and Plugins: I connected essential tools to test the theme’s overall compatibility, and to ensure you won’t run into any conflicts.

Why Trust WP101?

The logo for the WP101 platform, which offers video tutorials, particularly aimed at beginners
After running blogs and websites for years, I’ve learned that sometimes, less truly is more.

A single, well-designed page can often grab a visitor’s attention and convert better than a complex site with dozens of linked pages – but only if you choose the right theme!

That’s where this guide comes in. I’ve tested every single theme on real websites, so you can build your one page website with confidence.

If you’re new to the platform and need clear instruction on how to select, customize, and manage the perfect one page theme, our video tutorials can help:

1. Sydney – Best One Page Theme for Narrative-Driven Landing Pages

Sydney – Best One Page Theme for Narrative-Driven Landing Pages

When it comes to building a one page website, Sydney promises to make an impact. It’s particularly good at creating a page that tells a story, such as a personal portfolio or a product launch page, thanks to its built-in parallax effects.

My Experience

For this test, I decided to create a highly-focused landing page to promote a fictional eBook.  I needed a simple, powerful standalone page (not a complex multi-page site) and Sydney was ready to help me achieve that, right out-of-the-box.

Sydney integrates seamlessly with Elementor, and I really appreciated the fact that it comes with custom Elementor widgets. Instead of just dropping in some standard text boxes, I used the ‘Timeline’ widget to clearly show the development stages of the eBook.

This made the content much more interesting and engaging, especially when compared to plain text. If you choose Sydney, I highly recommend checking out these custom theme widgets, as they’re a huge time-saver.

But for me, the parallax background is easily Sydney’s standout feature. I simply uploaded a nice, high-resolution photo for the header and activated the effect. The subtle background movement when scrolling created a sense of depth that made my page feel more modern and engaging.

Sydney also lets you easily change your header and footer styles. I was able to switch the navigation from a transparent overlay to a solid, sticky bar in a matter of seconds.

Another great feature is the smooth scroll effect, which works automatically. When a visitor clicks an anchor link, the page gently scrolls to that section instead of abruptly jumping there. This is a really great detail.

Sydney Pros:

✅ Easy to use, so it’s great for beginners

✅ Works perfectly with all the top WordPress plugins

✅ Modern, polished theme with smooth parallax effects

✅ Useful library of pre-defined layouts, elements, sections, and widgets

✅ Responsive design looks great on every device

Sydney Cons:

❌ The library of pre-designed layouts is useful, but not as extensive as some other premium themes.

❌ No built-in options for advanced animations beyond parallax effects.

Pricing: You can download the free version of Sydney from WordPress.org. If you want those extra widgets and more customization options, Sydney Pro licenses start at $39 per year.

Why I Recommend Sydney: This is a beginner-friendly theme that still manages to deliver a professional, polished look. If you need a fast-loading, structured page where visitors can get all the information they need in a single scroll, then Sydney is a fantastic choice.

2. SeedProd – Best One Page Theme for High-Converting Landing Pages

SeedProd – Best One Page Theme for High-Converting Landing Pages

Unlike traditional themes, SeedProd is a powerful landing page builder that does a great job at creating beautiful, conversion-focused pages.

If your one page site needs to deliver tangible results, like collecting leads, generating sales, or launching a product, SeedProd may be the perfect tool for the job.

My Experience

I tested SeedProd in a ‘launch lifecycle’ scenario to truly see its conversion power.

To start, I built a simple ‘Coming Soon’ page for a fictional podcast series. This allowed me to start collecting emails before my ‘show’ was even ready.

When it was time to officially launch, I didn’t need to change themes or install new software. I simply used the SeedProd page builder to expand my single ‘Coming Soon’ page into the complete one page site for my podcast.

Beyond that, my favorite part of SeedProd is the built-in marketing blocks. The ‘Countdown Timer’ and the ‘Opt-in Form’ blocks helped me connect my page to my favorite email marketing service straight away.

This is where SeedProd delivers massive value, as you get high-impact conversion tools without needing to install any WordPress plugins.

I also checked the site on my tablet and phone, and every section looked great without me having to struggle with mobile-specific settings. SeedProd handles responsiveness perfectly.

SeedProd Pros:

✅ Drag-and-drop interface is intuitive and truly easy to use

✅ Massive library of professionally-designed templates for specific goals

✅ Built-in blocks (opt-in forms, countdowns) designed specifically for lead generation and sales

✅ Coming soon and maintenance modes included, so you don’t need to install extra plugins.

SeedProd Cons:

❌ Connecting to smaller, niche email services might require some extra manual setup.

Pricing: You can download the lite version of SeedProd from WordPress.org and test the basic features. However, the full power comes with the Pro version, which starts at $39.50/year.

Why I Recommend SeedProd: This page builder is firmly focused on fast loading times and conversions. This makes SeedProd the absolute best choice if your single-page website has a clear, measurable goal, like collecting email addresses or selling a single item.

Essentially, when it comes to creating a high-impact, high-converting funnel, you won’t find a more efficient solution than SeedProd.

3. Hestia – Best One Page Theme for Startups and Small BusinessesHestia – Best One Page Theme for Startups and Small Businesses

Hestia is an excellent option for new businesses or startups that need to create a professional, trustworthy presence fast.

Its sleek, modern ‘Material Design’ style and its compatibility with the major page builders make Hestia a go-to theme for creating a polished one page business site.

My Experience

For my test, I decided to use Hestia to build a simple, single page digital business card for a fictional consulting service.

My main goal was to see if I could create a professional look using only the WordPress Customizer. I wanted to avoid relying heavily on Elementor or other page builders.

What I found is that Hestia’s Material Design framework is brilliant for consistency. Everything follows a clean, predictable pattern that looks professional straight away.

I made heavy use of the theme’s ‘Ribbons’ feature to divide the long single page scroll. In particular, I used the ribbon to highlight the specific services I offered, which kept my content organized and easy to scan.

I also really like that Hestia handles all the essential optimization right away. I didn’t have to install extra plugins just to ensure my images remained sharp on high-resolution screens, or to make my content SEO-friendly.

While I didn’t rely on a page builder for my test, I did check Hestia’s compatibility with Elementor. I found zero conflicts or layout issues, so it’s nice to know you have that flexibility if you need it.

The included portfolio section is also fantastic. I added mock-ups of my consulting reports, and Hestia displayed them beautifully in a responsive grid.

Hestia Pros:

✅ Stylish Material Design that’s perfect for modern startups and small businesses

✅ Flexible customization options through the WordPress Customizer

✅ Lightweight and fast loading

Hestia Cons:

❌ Limited header layout options

❌ Blog functionality is fairly restricted compared to dedicated blogging themes

❌ Restricted advanced typography settings

Pricing: You can download the lite Hestia theme from the official WordPress repository. Alternatively, premium plans start at $69/year.

Why I Recommend Hestia: This theme is my top pick if you need to build a professional, polished one page  business site, fast. You’ll get a fast-loading, structured page where the different sections (services, portfolio, and contact) are clearly defined and look great on any device.

Plus, everything is visually consistent without you needing to constantly tweak things like padding and alignment.

4. Divi – Best One Page Theme for Professionals Who Want Customization Without Code

Divi – Best One Page Theme for Professionals Who Want Customization Without Code

For professionals who want absolute control over their design without ever touching CSS, Divi is an outstanding choice. Its visual builder is incredibly powerful, and the massive library of design elements allow you to create practically any kind of custom one page website.

My Experience

I put Divi to a challenging test by building a dynamic, comprehensive one page site for a fictional online summit.

My goal was to fit a speaker list, a full daily schedule, pricing tiers, and a registration form onto one long, scrolling page. I didn’t want the page to feel cluttered, which is hard to achieve with that much content.

Throughout the test, Divi’s visual build gave me instant design feedback. I could change a font size or move an image, and see the results straight away. This meant I could completely avoid the frustrating save-and-refresh cycle that often slows down design work.

Another feature I really like is the scroll effects. I used this to make the main ‘Register Now’ button stick to the top of the browser window once a visitor scrolled past the main content. This kept my call-to-action visible at all times.

Divi also includes features that typically require additional plugins. For example, Divi’s integrated A/B split testing is excellent. I quickly and easily created two different versions of my ticket pricing section to see which one generated more clicks.

Divi Pros:

✅ Real-time visual editing gives you immediate design feedback.

✅ Integrated A/B testing capabilities.

✅ Incredibly versatile and suitable for almost any industry or design type.

✅ Includes a range of built-in scroll effects and animations.

✅ Excellent support for global users with built-in language translation.

Divi Cons:

❌ Can be resource-intensive, so you’ll need a good WordPress hosting provider.

❌ Feature-rich interface might initially overwhelm brand-new users.

Pricing: Starts at $89/year.

Why I Recommend Divi: It’s a great choice if you want complete design control without having to write a single line of code. With Divi’s visual builder, I had no problems creating a complex, well-organized, single page website.

I particularly appreciated the built-in scroll effects and A/B testing, as these features promise to improve the user experience and optimize your one page site.

5. Ultra – Best One Page Theme for Immersive Visual Experiences

Ultra – Best One Page Theme for Immersive Visual Experiences

Want your one page site to be truly memorable? Then I recommend looking at Ultra.

This theme provides a wide range of demo content, plus builder add-ons that can help you create very intricate designs.

My Experience

This time, I decided to build a visually rich, single-page site for a fictional art gallery. My goal was to guide the visitor through a virtual tour: starting with the main collection, moving to the artist profiles, and ending with a ticket purchase form.

Straight away, Ultra’s horizontal section scroll was the standout feature. When the user scrolled down, the page didn’t just slide – instead, it snapped them to the next full-screen panel. This technique made my site feel more like a high-end digital presentation, rather than your standard endless scroll.

Ultra’s drag-and-drop builder also gave me complete design flexibility. I could easily move sections around and adjust spacing and colors without feeling restricted by the theme’s structure.

I also appreciated the twelve bonus builder add-ons that come with the theme. They allowed me to add testimonial blocks and pricing tables without having to install any separate plugins, which kept my site lightweight.

The only drawbacks I noticed were related to feature richness. Because Ultra can do so much, the initial setup process might feel a little complex.

You’ll need to spend a bit more time learning the builder, compared to simpler themes. Also, if you stack too many effects, you could potentially affect the page’s loading speed, so you need to be smart about optimization.

Ultra Pros:

✅ Access to a large selection of pre-made demo sites for rapid deployment.

✅ Eye-catching and memorable section scroll effects.

✅ Includes a wide array of builder add-ons to enhance functionality without needing additional plugins.

Ultra Cons:

❌ The sheer number of features means a slightly steeper learning curve.

❌ Performance may vary based on the complexity of selected designs.

Why I Recommend Ultra: If you want a one page site that truly stands out, Ultra is a fantastic choice. The horizontal section scroll is a game-changer when it comes to telling a story and delivering a memorable visitor experience.

Ultra also delivers strong speeds, which is essential for a rich, visual single page website.

6. OceanWP – Best One Page Theme for Fast and Flexible Online Stores

OceanWP – Best One Page Theme for Fast and Flexible Online Stores

If you need a one page site that’s both incredibly fast and robust enough to handle eCommerce, OceanWP is a standout choice.

It’s built for performance and offers deep, seamless integration with WooCommerce, making it perfect for any business that needs a flexible online presence.

My Experience

I used OceanWP to build a content-heavy, single page site for an online subscription box.

The page needed to feature high-resolution product photos, detailed pricing tables, and a full FAQ section. However, it also had to load instantly, especially for mobile users shopping on the go.

OceanWP delivered on its speed claims. Even with multiple sections and a large image gallery, my page load times were consistently impressive.

The WooCommerce support also felt completely native. I tested setting up my subscription box product, and the shop elements integrated perfectly with OceanWP’s design without any conflicts.

The customization is also great for one page needs. For example, I used OceanWP’s custom header layouts to prominently feature a discount code and a ‘Subscribe Now’ button. This ensures the call-to-action remains visible, no matter how far the visitor scrolls.

OceanWP Pros:

✅ Performance-focused, which results in incredibly fast-loading websites.

✅ Excellent WooCommerce compatibility.

✅ Large demo site library offers diverse options for quick setup.

✅ Wide range of free and premium extensions to boost functionality.

OceanWP Cons:

❌ Cost of premium extensions can easily increase your total expenses.

❌ You might need to make minor tweaks when using certain third-party page builders.

Pricing: You can download OceanWP for free from WordPress.org. Alternatively, premium plans start at $35/year.

Why I Recommend OceanWP: This is the perfect one page theme if speed and sales are your top priority.

OceanWP stays lightweight even when you include rich content like high-resolution product galleries. Plus, OceanWP integrates seamlessly with WooCommerce so you can set up a simple single-page shop to sell tickets, services, or products.

7. Astra – Best One Page Theme for Speed and Performance

Astra – Best One Page Theme for Speed and Performance

Astra is the theme I recommend when speed is your absolute top priority. Its lightweight structure, incredible flexibility, and massive template library make it perfect for building a comprehensive, high-performing single page that doesn’t compromise on speed.

My Experience

I wanted to test Astra’s speed reputation firsthand, so I used it to build a single page, professional resume. This site was packed with text, timelines, and links to external projects. My goal was to see if the page could load in under one second, even with all that content.

The results were impressive. The lightweight design delivered rapid page load times that consistently stayed under one second.

The workflow also felt incredibly streamlined. Rather than starting from scratch, I imported a One Page template from Astra’s library.

With over 300 pre-built designs to choose from, I had no problems finding a design that suited my portfolio. I had a complete layout ready to customize with a single click.

I also appreciated Astra’s transparent header option. I enabled it and adjusted my logo color, and the header blended seamlessly with the hero section. In my opinion, this is perfect for adding a modern, professional look to any one page website.

Astra also handles technical SEO brilliantly. It’s designed with SEO best practices in mind, including schema markup and clean code. This means you don’t need to add extra plugins just to ensure your heading structure and metadata are correct.

Astra Pros:

✅ Rapid page load times due to the extremely lightweight structure.

✅ Huge range of starter templates.

✅ Easily customize the look of your page with multiple layout options including full-width and boxed.

✅ Schema integration promises to improve your search rankings.

Astra Cons:

❌ Some of the starter templates can get repetitive.

❌ The documentation isn’t as detailed as I’d like when it comes to solving advanced user needs.

Pricing: You can download the lite version of Astra for free. If you want access to the full template library and advanced customization features, then Astra Pro starts at $59 per year.

Why I Recommend Astra: This is the ideal choice if you need the absolute fastest single page website possible. Astra delivers fantastic speeds, even when you design complex layouts with multiple sections.

I also really like Astra’s Global Color Palette, as it makes it easy to maintain design consistency across your entire long-scrolling page.

8. Parallax – Best One Page Theme for Creative Portfolios

Parallax – Best One Page Theme for Creative Portfolios

If you’re a photographer, artist, or any creative professional, the Parallax theme is built specifically for you. Its signature scrolling effect delivers a high-impact visual experience that’s ideal for showcasing your portfolio or narrative in a fresh, captivating way.

My Experience

Parallax’s namesake, the parallax scrolling effect, is fantastic. During this test, I uploaded full-screen, high-quality images to act as backgrounds for different sections within a one page website.

When you scroll, the foreground content moves at a different speed than the background, creating a sense of depth. This made my demo site feel incredibly immersive and cinematic.

I also really appreciated the included, pre-designed post types, especially for portfolios and team sections. I was able to quickly add bios and work samples to my demo site, using templates that looked incredibly professional.

Parallax also includes an infinite scrolling feature, which is perfect for a one page site. As visitors reach the end of each section, the next section loads automatically without an awkward pause or page break. This keeps your audience engaged and moving down the page.

One of the best things about Parallax is that you won’t need a third-party page builder like Elementor to achieve these complex, high-end visual effects. It’s all built into the theme.

However, since this theme relies so heavily on large, full-screen background images, it’s important to optimize your images. If you don’t, then your site will definitely slow down.

Parallax Pros:

✅ Clean design that’s ideal for creative professionals who prioritize visual content.

✅ Native parallax effects are stunning and truly enhance visual storytelling.

✅ Infinite scroll feature keeps visitors engaged with continuous content.

✅ Range of ready-to-use, pre-designed portfolio layouts.

✅ Animated elements, like progress bars, add lots of interactivity.

Parallax Cons:

❌Can easily become too visually busy if you use multiple parallax elements.

❌Performance will slow down if you stack too many animations on the page.

Pricing: You can buy an annual license for $59 per year.

Why I Recommend Parallax: If you want to feature lots of visual content, then Parallax is the perfect choice. The native parallax effects are genuinely impressive and allow you to build an immersive site without relying on a bulky page builder.

In particular, Parallax is ideal for portfolios where visual impact is your number one priority.

9. One Page Express – Best One Page Theme for Quick Site Deployment

One Page Express – Best One Page Theme for Quick Site Deployment

If you need to launch a professional-looking one page website straight away, then One Page Express is an excellent choice.

It gives you a quick and easy way to set up attractive single page sites, thanks to an extensive library of pre-designed sections and built-in modern effects.

My Experience

When testing One Page Express, my goal was pure speed. I wanted to see if I could go from a blank WordPress canvas to a fully functional sales page complete with service descriptions, client testimonials, and a pricing plan – all in under 30 minutes.

Rather than wrestling with complex builders, I used the theme’s drag-and-drop feature to pull sections onto the page, rearrange them, and adjust the content. As a result, I had the complete page structure ready in minutes.

One Page Express includes great visual features right away, like parallax and overlay effects. I applied a subtle parallax background to the hero section, and the depth effect made my page feel dynamic and high-end.

But what really sets One Page Express apart is its massive library of over 50 pre-designed content sections. I didn’t design my pricing table or my testimonial section. Instead, I browsed the available options, dropped the one I liked into place, and customized the text. That’s a huge time-saver.

I also found the header and footer builder incredibly easy to use. I customized the navigation menu, added social media icons, and placed a clear ‘Book a Consultation’ button without having to touch a single line of code.

One Page Express Pros:

✅ Wide range of pre-designed sections significantly speeds up site launches.

✅ Parallax effects add depth and visual interest easily.

✅ Ideal for quick, attractive site development where speed is the priority.

✅ Absolutely no coding skills required, making it incredibly beginner-friendly.

One Page Express Cons:

❌ Advanced customization is limited if you don’t buy the premium version.

❌ There’s a potential for slower load times if you use too many animations.

Pricing: You can download the lite version of One Page Express for free from WordPress. If you want the full selection of sections and priority support, the premium theme starts at $79, which includes one year of updates.

Why I Recommend One Page Express: This theme is a great choice for complete beginners because the setup is remarkably fast. The sheer number of professionally designed, pre-built sections completely removes the guesswork from your site’s layout and design, so you can launch a single page site instantly.

With Sydney, you get the stunning visual effects that are essential for high-impact single page storytelling, including smooth parallax scrolling. You also don’t need to write a single line of code, making it very beginner-friendly.

However, the ‘best’ choice will vary depending on what you want to achieve with your one page website. That said, here’s some other themes that I recommend for different use cases:

  • If you prioritize conversions and sales, then SeedProd is my top pick. It’s purpose-built for creating high-impact landing pages, so you get integrated marketing blocks like countdown timers and opt-in forms without needing to install any extra plugins.
  • If you want to create a business site, you should go with Hestia. Its clean, modern Material Design framework ensures your single page site always looks consistent and high-end. This makes Hestia ideal for startups and small businesses.

One Page WordPress Themes FAQs

Before you dive in and start building, you may have a few questions about switching to a one page site structure.

To help you out, I’ve put together a quick reference guide of the most common questions I get from WP101 readers. Hopefully, these answers will help you feel more confident in setting up your own single page site.

What is a one page WordPress theme?

A one page theme displays all your website content on a single, long scrolling page instead of scattering it across multiple pages linked by a menu.

I find they’re ideal for dedicated landing pages, professional portfolios, or simple small business sites where you want visitors to see everything quickly.

Do one page themes work with page builders?

Yes! Almost every good one page theme on the market integrates seamlessly with popular page builders like SeedProd, Beaver Builder, and Themify Builder.

In my experience, page builders actually make it easier to create one page websites, by helping you visualize where each section starts and ends. A good page builder can save you a ton of time, compared to trying to code each section yourself.

Can I add a blog to a one page site?

You certainly can, and many one page themes include that functionality.

For most themes, your main homepage will always remain that single scroll. However, you can create a separate page for your blog feed and then link to it from your navigation menu.

If you do add a blog to your one page site, I recommend adding a small ‘Latest News’ or ‘Blog Highlights’ section to your homepage. This helps to promote your content and drive more people to your full blog.

Are one page themes good for SEO?

Yes! One page themes tend to load very quickly, which Google loves.

However, since you only have one main page, you need to ensure it’s optimized correctly. For a full walkthrough on how to do this, please see our ultimate WordPress SEO guide.

Which one page theme loads the fastest?

Based on my tests, Astra and OceanWP both deliver truly exceptional speed and performance.

They’re both built to be lightweight, with very clean code. Even after adding multiple sections and images, Astra and OceanWP were still incredibly fast during testing.

Do I need coding skills to use these themes?

Absolutely not. That’s the beauty of using a modern WordPress theme.

Every single theme I’ve recommended in this list either comes with a drag-and-drop builder or integrates with the WordPress Customizer. This means you don’t need to write a single line of CSS or PHP, in order to build a professional-looking single page website.
