You’ve spent countless hours developing your product. You’ve refined it, priced it fairly, and you know it delivers real value. So why aren’t you getting sales?
Usually, the problem isn’t your product. It’s the page you’re sending people to.
Standard WordPress pages are designed for browsing. Between header menus, sidebars, and footer links, they offer a dozen easy exits before anyone even sees your ‘Buy’ button.
A dedicated sales page changes everything. By removing those everyday distractions, you guide visitors toward a single, clear choice: to buy. Having built these pages for my own projects, I can tell you the boost in conversions is huge.
In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to build a high-converting, distraction-free sales page from scratch, complete with persuasive copy, social proof, and a seamless checkout.
Why I Always Build a Dedicated Sales Page
Before we start building, let me explain why I always make the effort to create a dedicated sales page. Once you understand why these pages convert so well, you’ll see exactly why they’re worth your time.
A sales page is simply a standalone page with one single job: to convince a visitor to take one specific action. Most often, that goal is getting a visitor to buy a product. But it could be any action you want them to take, like booking a consultation call or signing up for a paid membership.
In fact, every time I launch a new offer, I design a dedicated sales page. Here are the exact reasons this strategy works so well for me:
- A Distraction-Free Selling Environment: A sales page completely removes your primary header menu, your sidebar, and any footer links so visitors can’t wander off mid-decision. During one of my own product launches, I hid the top navigation bar and instantly noticed that far more readers stayed engaged all the way down to the pricing table.
- Higher Conversions Without a Developer: When you build a sales page using a visual, drag-and-drop builder, you can test different headlines, swap out product images, or rearrange entire sections in just a few clicks. This allows you to experiment and see what looks the best.
- One Message, One Action: A great sales page tells one clear story and asks for exactly one thing. The moment I stopped trying to cram three different offers onto a single page and focused on promoting a single offer, my conversion rates soared.
- Build Trust and Credibility: Modern page builders let you easily drop in customer testimonials, star ratings, money-back guarantees, and countdown timers. These elements give hesitant, first-time visitors the confidence they need to buy from you.
- Works With the Store You Already Have: A sales page isn’t a replacement for your online store. Instead, it hooks directly into your existing checkout system. This setup allows visitors to read your compelling pitch and then purchase through the payment gateway you already use and trust. I love this approach because it works seamlessly no matter whether I’m using WooCommerce, Easy Digital Downloads, Stripe, or some other eCommerce solution.
What Makes a Sales Page Convert
Over the years, I’ve noticed that my top-performing sales pages always feature the same elements. With that said, let’s take a quick look at the anatomy of a successful sales page, before we start building.
At the very top, you need a clear, attention-grabbing headline that communicates the exact results the visitor wants to achieve, such as ‘Learn WordPress in a Weekend Without Writing Code’ or ‘Double Your Freelance Rates in Next 60 Days.’

Directly below it, you need a strong value proposition, explaining who the offer is for and why it matters.
I never use vague or overly clever wording in this section. If the visitor can’t tell what I’m selling within three seconds of landing on the page, then they’ll likely hit their browser’s back button and leave.
After that, clearly describe the real benefits of the product, rather than just listing features. For example, instead of writing that my plugin includes ‘automated database backups,’ I explain that it ‘protects your hard work automatically so you never lose your website data if your server crashes.’
Next, back up those claims with genuine social proof, such as customer testimonials, star ratings, or client logos. This proves that other people have already bought your product and achieved great results.

Finally, address the visitor’s lingering doubts with a Frequently Asked Questions section before finishing the page with a single, clear call to action (CTA).
When creating a CTA button, remove all remaining friction by making it completely obvious what happens the moment the visitor clicks this button.

As we move through the rest of this guide, I’ll show you how to add all these elements to a single sales page so you can achieve fantastic results. That said, let’s start building.
Step 1: Install and Activate SeedProd
For this guide, I’ll be using SeedProd because it’s the best WordPress page builder on the market. It’s the exact tool I regularly use to create high-converting sales pages without ever touching a single line of code.
This powerful plugin comes with a beginner-friendly, drag-and-drop editor alongside a massive library of ready-made sales templates. This allows you to launch beautifully-designed pages with just a few clicks.

If you want to try SeedProd’s core features before buying, you can download the free, lite version of SeedProd directly from the official WordPress.org repository.
This free version gives you access to the code-free editor and a solid selection of templates. However, for this tutorial I’ll be using the premium version of SeedProd.
By upgrading, you’ll get access to the entire library of dedicated sales page templates, plus advanced blocks designed specifically to convert casual visitors into paying customers. This includes countdown timers, email opt-in forms, star ratings, and dynamic product grids.
The premium plugin also provides a wide selection of blocks built specifically for WooCommerce, making it the ideal choice if you’re running an online store.
To get started, simply head over to the official SeedProd website and purchase the plan that best fits your business goals.
After purchasing the plugin, you can install and activate it on your site. If you’ve never added a plugin to your website before, our step-by-step guide on how to install a plugin walks you through the entire process.
Upon activation, you just need to enter your license key to unlock all of SeedProd’s advanced features and sales templates. To do this, go to SeedProd » Settings in your WordPress dashboard.

Find the ‘License Key’ field, paste your unique key, and then click the ‘Verify Key’ button.
You can easily find your license key by logging into your SeedProd account dashboard or by checking the automated purchase confirmation email you received when you bought the plugin.
Step 2: Create a New Sales Page in SeedProd
With the plugin activated, your next move is to open the SeedProd dashboard. From your WordPress dashboard, go to SeedProd » Landing Pages in the left-hand menu.
To create a brand new page, click the ‘+ Add New Landing Page’ button.

Next, SeedProd will ask you to enter a Page Name and confirm its URL. I always give my pages a clear internal name like ‘Spring Course Sales Page’ so I can find them again easily later.
As you type the name, the URL field will fill in automatically. You can always edit this link if you’d like to make it shorter or cleaner.

Once you’re happy with both, click the ‘Next: Choose Template button’ to move on to the next step.
Step 3: Choose a Sales Page Template
Now comes one of my favorite parts, which is choosing a template. Rather than starting from scratch with a blank screen, SeedProd gives you a huge library of professionally designed templates that you can easily customize to fit your brand.
To quickly find what you need, I recommend using the category filters. For example, clicking the Sales category instantly displays templates designed specifically for selling products or services.

Each template is a complete starting point with a headline area, benefit sections, testimonial spots, and call-to-action buttons already in place. I usually pick a template that closely resembles my target design.
If you prefer total creative freedom, you can select the Blank Template option to build your layout section-by-section. However, if this is your first sales page, starting with a pre-made design will save you a lot of time.
To select a template, hover over its thumbnail and then click the checkmark icon when it appears.

SeedProd will then load your chosen design into the editor, which is where the real fun begins.
Step 4: Customize Your Headline and Value Proposition
Let’s take a moment to explore the SeedProd interface. In the left-hand panel, you’ll find all the blocks and sections you can drag onto your page, while the center area displays a real-time preview of your site.

It’s best to start with the main headline, since it’s the very first thing your visitors will see. To edit any text block, simply click on it in the live preview, and the customization options will automatically open in the left-hand panel.
As you type, focus on highlighting the exact result your visitor is looking for. Instead of a vague headline like ‘My Online Course’, try something clear and actionable like ‘Learn to Bake Sourdough at Home in 30 Days.’

Using the left-hand sidebar, you can also easily adjust the font, size, and color to match your brand style. Making your main headline large and bold ensures it grabs attention the moment the page loads.
Step 5: Add Your Sales Copy, Benefits, and Visuals
With your headline in place, it’s time to build out the rest of your page using clear, persuasive text and supporting images. This is where you transform a curious visitor into a confident buyer.
To add a new element, simply locate the block you need in the left-hand panel, like an Image or Text block.

Then, drag and drop that block directly onto your live preview.
Next, click the block inside the live preview to select it. The left-hand panel will immediately update to show all the settings you can use to fine-tune that element.

You can simply repeat this process to add more content to your sales page.
When writing your benefit sections, focus on real-world outcomes rather than basic features. For example, instead of listing “50 video lessons,” try “Follow 50 short lessons designed to fit into your lunch break.” This clearly highlights the value to the user.
To keep your page visually engaging, drag the Image block onto your layout and upload high-quality images of your product.

I find that breaking long stretches of text with images keeps people scrolling, since a wall of words tends to be overwhelming. Also, aim to give every key claim its own supporting image or a short, punchy line of text.
Step 6: Build Trust with Testimonials and Social Proof
No matter how persuasive your text is, most visitors still need reassurance before buying. Social proof helps build that confidence by showing potential customers that other people are already seeing great results.
To add a testimonial, drag the Testimonials block from the left panel and drop it directly onto the live preview. Next, click the block to select it, then use the options on the left to enter the customer’s name, photo, and review.

When choosing testimonials, focus on specific, result-driven quotes rather than simple praise. A statement like “I made back the cost of the course in my first week” carries much more weight than a generic “Great product!”
SeedProd also includes several other elements to help build credibility. For example, you can easily add a Star Rating block, client logo grids, or a money-back guarantee badge to help reassure shoppers.
It’s well worth exploring the different options in the left-hand panel to see all the drag-and-drop elements available to you.

To create a sense of urgency, you can also add a Countdown Timer block if your offer has a set deadline. However, I only recommend using countdown timers for real deadlines, as artificial timers can undermine the trust you’ve established with your audience.

Step 7: Add Your Call to Action and Connect a Checkout
A great sales page needs a clear path to purchase. That’s why your call-to-action button deserves special attention.
Most sales templates include a button by default, but you can always add another by dragging the Button block onto your live preview.
Once selected, use the left panel to edit the button’s text. I recommend using direct, action-focused wording like “Enroll Now” or “Get Instant Access.”

The most important step is setting the link. In the Link field, paste the direct address to your product page or checkout form so visitors are directed to the right place.
If you use WooCommerce, you can point your button directly to your product page. However, SeedProd also offers dedicated WooCommerce blocks, like the ‘Checkout’ block, allowing customers to submit their payment directly on your sales page without ever visiting your standard cart.

For digital products or single items, you can link your button directly to a quick payment form. If you haven’t set up payment processing yet, our guide to the best Stripe payment plugins can help you choose the right solution.
Whichever route you choose, please test the button yourself after the page is live. I’ve lost sales in the past because a single broken checkout link sat unnoticed for days, so a quick click-through is always worth it.
Pro Tip: No matter what route you choose, always test your call-to-action button after publishing your page. Taking a few seconds to click through ensures your link works properly and prevents lost sales.
Step 8: Connect an Email Marketing Service
Not every visitor will buy on their first visit, and that’s completely normal. Capturing email addresses lets you follow up with interested visitors who aren’t quite ready to purchase yet. This helps you turn cold leads into customers over time.
To connect your email provider to SeedProd, click the Connect tab. Here, you’ll find built-in integrations for popular services like Mailchimp, Constant Contact, ConvertKit, and AWeber.

Simply click on your service provider and follow the prompts to connect your account. This usually involves logging in or entering an API key, which is a unique code that securely connects SeedProd to your email platform.
Once connected, any opt-in form on your sales page will automatically send new leads straight to your email list.
If you haven’t selected an email platform yet, check out our guide to the best WordPress email marketing services.
Step 9: Configure Your Sales Page Settings
Before launching your page, it’s worth taking a moment to review a few behind-the-scenes settings. These options control how your page functions and how search engines display it.
To access these settings, click the Page Settings tab. Here, you’ll find sections for General, SEO, and Analytics.

Under General, you can change your page title and URL, if required.
After that, the SEO section allows you to set the title and description that appear in search results, helping potential customers find your page online.
There’s one important setting I want to flag, because it can solve the most common problem people run into.
If your finished page ever looks misaligned or displays incorrectly on your live site, go to Page Settings » General and turn on Isolation Mode.

Isolation Mode tells SeedProd to ignore styling from your WordPress theme and other plugins, which is usually what causes a page to display incorrectly. Turning this on will also intentionally hide your theme’s standard header and footer, which is perfect for keeping visitors focused entirely on your sales pitch.
In my experience, enabling Isolation Mode fixes common display issues instantly, so it’s always worth trying if something looks ‘off.’
Step 10: Preview and Publish Your Sales Page
You’ve done the hard work, and now it’s time to share your sales page with the world. However, before publishing I always check how my layout looks on mobile devices.
Since so many visitors browse on smartphones and tablets, your sales page needs to look just as great on a smaller screen as it does on a desktop computer. If you skip this step, you’ll almost certainly miss out on sales.
To view the mobile layout, select the ‘Design’ tab and then click the Mobile Preview icon in the bottom toolbar. In particular, make sure your headline, text, and call-to-action buttons render clearly on the smaller screen.

When you’re happy with how everything looks, click the dropdown arrow next to the ‘Save’ button.
Then, select ‘Publish’ to make your page live.

After publishing, click the option to view your live page to see the finished result exactly as your visitors will.
Pro Tip: If you publish your page and it doesn’t appear straight away, don’t panic. In almost every case, a caching plugin is simply displaying a previously saved copy of the page. You can usually solve this problem by clearing your cache.
And that’s it! You’ve now created a high-converting, professional-looking sales page, without having to write a single line of code.
Frequently Asked Questions About Sales Pages
Because I want to help you get started as quickly as possible, I’ve collected all the most common questions I’ve seen business owners ask about sales pages.
These FAQs should resolve any lingering technical roadblocks or design questions, so you can build with confidence.
What’s the difference between a sales page and a landing page?
A landing page is a broad term for any standalone page designed to get a visitor to take a single, specific action. For example, you might use a landing page to collect email addresses for a free download, sign people up for a webinar, or promote a free event.
Meanwhile, a sales page is a specialized type of landing page built specifically to sell a product or service.
In short, every sales page is a landing page, but not every landing page is a sales page.
While a basic landing page might only need a headline and a simple opt-in form, a successful sales page usually requires persuasive copy, social proof, pricing options, and a clear link to checkout.
Do I need a special theme to create a sales page in WordPress?
No, you don’t need a special WordPress theme at all. SeedProd builds your sales page on its own separate framework, so it works seamlessly alongside any well-coded theme.
If your theme ever causes layout conflicts or displays strangely, simply go to SeedProd’s settings and switch on Isolation Mode. Your sales page will then ignore your theme’s styling completely, while you continue to use the original theme for the rest of your WordPress blog or website.
How do I accept payments on my sales page?
You have a few great options here, depending on what you’re selling and the type of checkout process you need.
If you run a full e-commerce store with multiple products, inventory tracking, or shipping rules, I recommend linking your call-to-action buttons directly to your WooCommerce checkout. That way, buyers can skip the standard ‘Add to Cart’ step entirely, and go straight to the payment form before they have a chance to get distracted and abandon their purchase.
Alternatively, if you’re selling a single digital product, course, or service, a lightweight payment setup may be a better fit.
You can use a dedicated Stripe or PayPal plugin to add secure credit card fields directly to your sales page. If you already use Square for in-person sales, then you can use a Square plugin and track all your revenue using the same system.
No matter which payment gateway you choose, always run a live test purchase before sending promotional traffic or running paid ads to your new sales page.
Why isn’t my sales page showing up after I published it?
This is one of the most common issues beginners run into, but it’s usually very easy to fix.
If your live page displays a 404 error or a blank screen, chances are a caching plugin on your site is serving an older, saved version of your page. To fix this, simply clear your WordPress plugin cache and browser cache, then refresh the page. Your sales page should appear immediately.
If your web host uses built-in caching (such as Bluehost or SiteGround), you can usually click the ‘Purge All’ or ‘Purge Cache’ option in your top admin bar to clear it instantly.
If the page still isn’t showing up after clearing the cache, I recommend double-checking the page settings to ensure its status is set to ‘Published’ and not ‘Draft.’ It sounds incredibly obvious, but I’ve personally clicked ‘Save’ and then forgotten to click ‘Publish’ more times than I care to admit.
Is the free version of SeedProd enough, or do I need the premium plugin?
It depends on what you’re building. The free version of SeedProd is a great option if you just want to create a simple Coming Soon or Maintenance Mode page, or you want to test out the drag-and-drop editor.
However, if you want to build a high-converting sales page that drives revenue, I recommend upgrading to the premium version of SeedProd. It unlocks professionally-designed sales templates along with specialized conversion blocks like dynamic countdown timers, pricing tables, and testimonials.
If you’re using WooCommerce, the premium version also includes dedicated WooCommerce blocks. This allows customers to start the checkout process or even submit payments, directly from your sales page.
Congratulations, Your Sales Page Is Ready
If you’ve been following along, you now have a polished, distraction-free sales page that’s ready to turn casual visitors into paying customers.
This is a major milestone that instantly gives your site a more professional look. However, a great sales page is just one part of building a thriving, profitable WordPress website.
